WA) - Spokane International Airport (GEG) is announcing a
formal ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m.
on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 to commemorate Horizon's lease
signing for the MRO hangar on the South side of the airfield.
Horizon's lease includes 75,200 square feet of hangar floor,
office and shop space; 8,000 square feet of vehicle parking;
and 8.5 acres of aircraft parking apron. The facility is the
employment site for 32 FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant
(A&P) mechanics. The MRO hangar is located at 9118 West
Electric Avenue. Numerous Horizon executives, including Jeff
Pinneo, President and CEO of Horizon Air, will join airport
officials and Spokane business, education, and government
leaders at the event. A map and driving instructions are attached
and the public is invited to attend the ceremony.
Horizon
Air is contracting with Empire Aerospace of Hayden, Idaho
to provide a variety of maintenance services that are focused
on enhancing reliability and fleet conformity. Additionally,
the facility will be used to install new cutting-edge electronic
equipment to enhance flight safety and communications.
